Birthday Present. 32m, M7 WI5, Feb 02. F.A. Dana Ruddy, Gary Boyd

“Birthday Present,” is located to climbers right of the last pitch in Sniveling Gully. It is a superb natural line and a great way to add some variety and volume to a day at the Weeping Wall. The route climbs left of a hanging dagger and continues up a flake to a small overhang. After clipping the last bolt step left onto a smear that quickly develops into a pillar, which leads to a stance and a two bolt anchor.

Rappel the route. The route is slightly longer than 30m, although you can rappel onto the flow of ice in Snivelling Gully and then down climb easy ice for a body length. Get to it before the sun does!

Gear: -11 quick draws, ice screws. Small cams could be used to protect the pillar.

Approach: As for Weeping Wall, 120 m up Snivelling Gully.
